 Maybelline deletes tweet polling followers if it should stay on Snapchat

Maybelline has asked its 665,000 followers if it’s still worth posting on Snapchat after it has seen its views “drop dramatically”. The L’Oreal cosmetics brand said in the Tweet, that has now been deleted, that it “isn’t sure” Snapchat is the platform to stay connected to its consumers.

 Kylie Jenner’s tweet about Snapchat sees stock value fall by $1.3bn

The value of Snapchat’s parent company plummeted by an astonishing £1 billion ($1.3bn) after a tweet by Kylie Jenner stated that she was no longer a fan of the messaging app.  Shares in the social media company also dropped by a massive six percent.

Consumers weary of influencer marketing 

Prizeology’s survey of 2,000 UK consumers found that almost half (44%) believe influencer marketing to be damaging, 61% felt brands were not being transparent about their use of influencers and 71% believe there are no rules regulating influencers.
