Google’s new AR tech takes you inside Barcelona’s stadium on Snapchat

 As part of its AR expansion, Google has partnered with Snapchat on a new 3D world lens which takes you inside Barcelona’s Camp Nou stadium. Similar to Snapchat’s earlier Stranger Things-themed lens, users can “walk into” the stadium in augmented reality using the lens.

Instagram Direct lets you send pictures that disappear after one view 

Instagram Direct now lets you send pictures and videos that disappear after they have been viewed once. Users can decide whether recipients can only view it once, replay it temporarily or see a permanent thumbnail of it in the chat log.

Steven Tai replaces the runway with AR

Presented in collaboration with the London College of Fashion’s Innovation Agency (FIA) and ILMxLAB, designer Steven Tai’s autumn/winter 2018 presentation blurred the physical and digital through the use of a digital avatar. Set to a backdrop of an AR-enhanced street in China, the digital model, present with real models, switched between pieces in real-time.
