LET THE FAMILY FEUDS COMMENCE WITH THE NEW MONOPOLY CHEATERS EDITION

Breaking up families since 1932, Monopoly is somewhat of a British institution. With almost 2,000 different variations of the game in existence to date, it’s fair to say that despite the dramas caused, we’re on board.

With editions such as Simpsons Monopoly to ABBA Monopoly (yep, those are both things), you’d think the team at Hasbro would be running out of ideas. But their latest move puts focus back on the habits of the players. In a recent study, Hasbro found that nearly half of Monopoly players cheat at least once during every game. 

‘So in 2018, we decided it was time to give fans what they’ve been craving all along – a Monopoly game that actually encourages cheating,’ Hasbro Senior Vice President Jonathan Berkowitz told Thisisinsider.com.

This is a great example of a brand using the habits of the people who enjoy their products the most to deliver them an experience that is ultimately determined by how they behave. This move of embracing their ‘less-than-honest’ fans will surely cause an interesting stir at the next family game night.
