New survey finds America’s trust in Facebook continues to decline

Reuters’ survey found that most people used Facebook throughout the day more than they used Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr, Snapchat, or Google+. But although people were more likely to be on Facebook, 51% either said they did not trust the platform at all or did not trust it very much.

 *Although the poll did not explicitly ask about the recent Cambridge Analytica data breach, the timing of the poll coincides with when the breach came to public attention. Whilst Facebook have issued an apology, it remains to be seen as to what they are going to do to prevent a repeat of this situation.*

 Immersive VR helmets to take National Geographic viewers to space  

National Geographic and McCann NY are promoting Darren Aronofsky’s new series One Strange Rock with Space Projection Helmets that lets viewers see space through the eyes of astronauts. The helmets will initially debut at the Lincoln Centre in New York City before going on a tour of schools and planetariums.

Nike announces retail app for connected in-store experience

Nike has announced the launch of Nike App at Retail, a mobile concept that provides in-store customers with a personalised experience via their devices. The app will allow consumers to be recognised when entering a store, opening up exclusive products within their proximity. It will also allow them to scan product availability in all nearby Nike stores.
