Absolut launches global interactive selfie campaign in airports

 The ‘Global Selfie’ campaign invites travellers flying from Frankfurt and Singapore to upload a picture of themselves via Absolut.com with their name, city and recommend places they love eating, drinking etc. in their home city. These are then displayed on screens in terminals with flights departing to the cities mentioned.

 *Absolut’s campaigns often have an angle of ‘breaking down barriers’ in society. This campaign is an example of it trying to break down physical, continental barriers. It’s also a good way of using known social behaviours (airport selfies) to turn passengers into content creators*.

 Facebook adds Marketplace for home services

 Facebook teamed up with Handy, HomeAdvisor and Porch to add recommendations on home services professionals to its Marketplace ecommerce section.

Tinder is testing Places, a location-sharing feature that matches you with your coffee shop bae

Places will let users find potential matches based off the places they travel, whether that be a dog park, restaurant, coffee shop, or movie theatre. Each location will populate about 30 minutes after a user has left and will expire after 28 days.

*The protection of personal data has been at the forefront of user discussion following the Cambridge Analytica scandal. It will be interesting to see whether users opt into this new feature, therefore divulging an increased amount of information to an app.*
