Disney and Twitter team up to create content for social network

Walt Disney Co. is working with Twitter Inc. to create live sports programming and other content for the social-media platform, part of a push to turn Twitter’s service into a destination for premium streaming video.

*Twitter has been trying to broaden its appeal and lure users by becoming a place to discover ‘what’s happening now.’ Efforts to bulk up its streaming offerings have begun to pay off, and video has contributed more than half of advertising revenue for two quarters running. The pact with Disney gives Twitter a bigger arsenal of content that will help it compete against larger rivals, including Facebook.*

Younger consumers adopt voice technology faster, but use voice assistants less, report claims

According to a new report on voice assistants released today by PwC, younger users are adopting voice technology at a faster rate than their older counterparts, but are somehow using their voice assistants less often.

* This is an interesting finding, given that younger users tend to be not only those who adopt technology at a quicker pace than older people, but who use it more frequently, as well. The report claims it’s basically an image thing: younger users prefer to use voice technology in private instead of in public.*

China’s new sci-fi amusement park is powered entirely by virtual reality rides 

A new amusement park opened in China where all the experiences utilise virtual reality technology. You won’t find traditional roller coasters at the Oriental Science Fiction Valley theme park, which counts 35 virtual reality rides ranging from spaceship tours to virtual roller coasters and shooter games.
