Instagram will use ads to help users register to vote

Instagram announced that it’s starting a new campaign to help encourage users to register to vote, using ads in both users’ feeds and Stories to offer an easy link with information on registering.

*This is a great way of tackling the political apathy amongst younger generations. It will be interesting to see whether this campaign drives an increase in the number of votes – it begs the question of whether the ‘digital generation’ are not voting due to lack of information or simply because they cannot be bothered.*

Pinterest eyes influencer marketing budgets with new API

Pinterest is helping brands work better with influencers on the platform by providing more resources for campaign measurement. The platform has expanded its content marketing API to third-party influencer marketing platforms for the first time.
