Snapchat users can now register to vote within the app

Snapchat wants to encourage its young users to register to vote, thanks to in-app notifications and a Snapchat-branded TurboVote mobile site.

Instagram gets browser notification support

For the first time, you’ll now get Instagram notifications when using the social network through a browser.

* This update brings the functionality of the web app much closer to that of the social network’s native app — but it’s still limited. You can’t direct message yet, or upload videos. Still, you can see your timeline, upload photos, search, and view/publish Stories, which covers most of the experience. Not only does it unify the mobile and browser experience, but this update also brings the Instagram user experience in-line with that which is provided by Facebook.*

 Alexa will soon guess what you’re thinking

The new feature, Alexa Hunches, will observe interactions between Alexa device owners and other connected smart home devices, making suggestions when a regular pattern is found.
