Online music jukebox We7 is inviting people to create a playlist that defines their life as a fun viral way to learn about how to access legal music sites.
Me7 – 7 songs that define Me is a month-long competition offering up £7,000 worth of prizes. The competition runs for four weeks from this Friday: the more users share their playlist via Twitter, emails and social networks, the more chance they have of winning prizes. www.we7.com
We’re pleased to announce that Splendid will drive activity on social media channels as part of Lucozade Energy’s “Do More” campaign.
The campaign involves challenging fans to do more with their energy, offering the chance to win one of five unforgettable physical challenges across the globe this summer, from sand-boarding the highest dunes in Namibia to yacht racing in the Caribbean!
Splendid are driving conversations around the five challenges on social media sites, as well as providing content for key target bloggers.
To celebrate the release of Marston’s Pedigree Marmite, Splendid enlisted the help of ex-England cricketer Phil Tufnell and released an anthem - ‘The Ashes Song’ by Tuffers and the Wooden Urns - to sledge the Vegemite-munching Aussies and cheer the England lads on to victory at the Ashes next month. Available to download from iTunes.com all profits will be donated to Cricket for Change, a cricket community charity which uses the game to change young lives. Click here to download the single and show the England lads your support this Summer!
On Friday we were at a breakfast briefing with Jon Gripton – online news editor for Sky News. In the conference our Marstons Marmite campaign was mentioned as an example of a great story which had been well pitched and hence made it on to the site. It’s good to know that doing PR Right still makes a difference, thanks Gorkana!
Today’s best in blogs shows up some interesting trends:
Realtime search - not one but TWO real time search engines launch
Augmented reality overlay technology - perhaps not a trend but well worth picking up on as along with Android apps offering this functionality it describes an emergent trend
Myspace is sliding down the SocMed scale after recent firings
Twitter and games - Spymaster taught some lessons, perhaps @trivia will learn them
People are wearing hats (aah Ascot)
The world of PR and marketing are obsessed with twitter (not news, but certainly trending)
Without further ado, please enjoy out pick of the last couple of days of blog posts.
Emily captures images of interesting London shop fronts, every day. Wonderfully relaxing and a somehow tender examination of the ephemeral faces of the street furniture that are shop fronts.
