The brilliant exhibition brings together the work of artists who create architecturally-inspired work: habitat-like structures and architectural environments. Explore The Hayward's spaces inside and out, including a room frozen in a moment of explosive disaster; tunnels linking galleries; an eerie but strangely beautiful village of over 200 dollhouses; a floating plastic cloud (which you can crawl around on/in and look down on people below) and a skyline boating pond! Great for both big and small people.

As part of the London Festival of Architecture, bags full of salads, herbs and flowers will be placed around London to meet demand for local home grown produce. You can see the fruits of their labours at various locations, including VACANT LOT on Cheap Street. Seventy bags of soil have turned a dilapidated housing estate into a buzzing and fruitful community hub. Gordon Ramsay would be proud!

Inspired by the amazing shop window display at Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge, we started wondering whatever happened to Spirograph – the Eighties’ phenomenon that instantly turned us all into psychedelic art prodigies. Well, if you fancy reliving the genius that is Spirograph, check out http://wordsmith.org/~anu/java/spirograph.html - a virtual version that is really addictive! For those of you wondering what a Spirograph is…A Spirograph is a curve formed by rolling a circle inside or outside of another circle. The pen is placed at any point on the rolling circle. If the radius of fixed circle is R, the radius of moving circle is r, and the offset of the pen point in the moving circle is O, then the equation of the resulting curve is defined by:
x = (R+r)*cos(t) - (r+O)*cos(((R+r)/r)*t)Posted By: Nick

Another epic performance for Smirnoff Original Nights, this time up in Glasgow with Electric Cabaret hosting a fantastic line-up: kick-off from the loveable Pete & the Pirates; then a great set from Mystery Jets, a show-stopping performance from New Young Pony Club and finally a DJ set from Maximo Park (with initial collaboration with legendary DJ, Linus Loves).
Also entertaining the Glasgow Massive were a range of weird and wonderful original Cabaret, with plenty of spontaneous fun as always from dressing-up boxes, tattoo and make-up stands and innovative Smirnoff drinking experiences around the venue. A really successful event with Glasgow's finest rocking the rafters.

The party's carbon neutral as they only book djs who are in London anyway, they recycle everything and they make sure all the drinks are organic and locally sourced etc.

For someone who shuns the ‘greedy’ art world, Banksy certainly keeps popping up in galleries a lot. The latest is a show of works at the Andipa in Knightsbridge. But according to the man himself: “None of the print and painting exhibitions in proper art galleries are anything to do with me, it's all stuff they bought previously.” What of the recent Damien Hirst collaboration for Sotheby’s Red auction? Well, hey, it was for a good cause. No matter, we love the existencilicious man of mystery. And we much prefer seeing his work on the bare streets of London.

A chance encounter led the artist to start practicing night photography – using moonlight and an extremely long exposure. The result is a series of landscape photographs that are bathed in an eerie brightness, seemingly transforming night into day, an effect on critic describes as “a kind of fog of knowing and unknowing, revealing and concealing.”
Waterfalls and gushing lakes become pools of static steam and a pounding sea is calmed to a thick, solid fog. Always unpopulated, his landscapes suggest the possibility of another existence, a dead-of-night world without the seething masses of humanity.

The Mind Chair is the creation of London designers Peter Marigold and Beta Tank and is an amazing chair that utilizes sensory substitution technology developed in the 1960s to send and display high-definition moving imagery into the mind of the person seated in it. The design uses a standard plastic chair with a special electronic device attached to the back of it.
This devise makes use of science attributed to Dr Paul Bach-y-Rita and looks like something you would find on the back of your TV or DVD player, but it is this device that transmits via the seated persons skin, the high definition video imagery. In reality the seated person will mentally ‘see’ the transmission sent by the Mind Chair in all its Technicolor glory. The Mind Reading Chair cannot be far off…
The simplistic design masks the thought-provoking abilities of the Mind Chair and for a closer look at the chair it will be exhibited at the forthcoming Design and the Elastic Mind exhibition at MoMA in New York. What can or will the Mind Chair be used for?

Over thirty years ago, David Hepher made a painting of the Durrington Tower high rise on the Wandsworth Road Estate. Exhibited at the Hayward Gallery in 1975, the painting marked the beginning of Hepher's sustained exploration of the monolithic and sculptural forms of South London's twentieth century skyline. Recently he has revisited the site - now emptied of the idealistic impulse from which it sprang - anxious to paint its soaring modernist structures before they are reconditioned or else demolished.
This exhibition features a number of paintings, two epic triptychs and a diptych among them, based on the Estate and its complex history. They are painted on a base of shuttered concrete and/or enlarged photographic images building up layers of images and graffiti text. Hepher exploits the interplay between representation and realisation. By incorporating the real materials of architecture into his paintings, he seeks not merely to represent the tower blocks, but to take over their very substance.
Interesting stuff and worth a peek if you are passing. 22nd November - 12 January

Mercury Award winning composer/producer Nitin Sawhney adds his own East-meets-West sound with a specially commissioned score played live by four musicians, and Turner Prize winner Antony Gormley has contributed the staging - two life-size casts of the dancers.
zero degrees explores borders - between countries, cultures and, most importantly, between life and death. It challenges, prompts and inspires, in a seamless fusion of dance styles, music and contemporary art.
Try and catch this show next time it tours – trust me – you’ll be blown away! Video link below…

Floating, floatation, float therapy...whatever you choose to call it, it's quite simply the most incredible means of stress relief and relaxation available. Essentially, the tank contains 10 inches of super-saturated salt solution, which enables you to float effortlessly on the surface. The water is heated to skin temperature (93.5 degrees) so it feels like floating in mid-air.
Unless you are an astronaut (my boyhood dream), this is the only situation where your body is completely free from the harmful forces of gravity, with every muscle allowed to totally relax. I mean… Chillax!

David Firth after a years wait has produced another episode of his terrifying and yet highly addictive "Salad Fingers".
With his high pitched voice, obsession with rust and whose only friends consist of finger puppets, this strange green man has become a definitive cult hit. Freaky, indeed!

Check out dark comedy Ellin by Simon Bent starring John Simm (Life on Mars) and Adrian Bower (Teachers) currently running at Trafalgar Studios.Adapted from the cult film (and originally a novel by Ingvar Ambjørnsen), odd ball Ellin (Simm) and his best mate, a sex-obsessed 40-year old virgin called Bjarne (Bower) are released from a mental asylum.
In order to prevent a swift return to their padded confines they must convince their social worker that they are able to lead a "normal" life. Fortunately for the audience, both of them are properly nuts.
Good fun!

An amazing database exploring human emotion on a global scale. It contains millions of human feelings, increasing by 15,000 - 20,000 new feelings per day.
You can ask questions like: Do women feel fat more often than men? Does rainy weather affect how we feel? Which are the happiest cities in the world? The saddest? And so on.

London's best boutique bowling alley is about to launch its third branch and where better than our very own Shoreditch? Think brick-exposed warehouse, American-style diner and fabulous cocktails which don't help the bowling but make for a great evening.

Overdosed on CSI repeats? This one’s for you. Dexter is a respected member of the police force by day (a blood splatter expert no less) who harbours secret homicidal tendencies and fills his leisure time by murdering and chopping up baddies. Starring the gay character from Six feet Under and one of Samatha's conquests from Sex and the City. Check out the amazing Hitchcock-style opening credits.

Petrcane in Croatia played host to what must be summer’s most enticing boutique festival, The Garden Festival. Set on the breathtaking peninsula of the Pinija hotel, it featured a host of great music talent, beach and boat parties, and the original sixties club Barbarella’s Discotheque. Definitely one to check out in 2008 if you missed out this year.http://www.thegardenfestival2007.com/Posted By: Kiran
British author Richard, currently studying at Central St Martins, wrote the book when he was just 15 years old growing up in Middlesbrough. Fascinating insight into the diet of the MySpace generation, that includes bunking school, double dropping Ferraris, boys, girls, Friday nights and falling in love.

Sunday Times Style called it the UK’s coolest club and we agree. East London’s creative community enjoys cocktails by the pool on the roof terrace bar and it all feels very ‘LA’. The weather, of course, feels very ‘East London’ but who cares?

Opened only two weeks ago, it brings an authentic taste of Spain to this part of town. Very cool, understated bar with the quirkiest matches you’ve ever seen. Perfect for spending many a summer evenings drinking elderflower Sangira (Pinchito’s special, yum!) and munching your way through the delicious tapas…
